The Portland Timbers open their 2008 preseason schedule on Friday when they face Major League Soccer’s San Jose Earthquakes at the Clive Charles Soccer Complex at the University of Portland. The Timbers then play Gonzaga University on Sunday in Forest Grove, Ore.
On Friday, the Timbers square off against the Earthquakes at 7:30 p.m. in the second match of a special preseason doubleheader at the University of Portland. Tickets, starting at $10, are available through the UP box office, area Ticketmaster outlets, online at www.ticketmaster.com or by phone at (503) 224-4400. A special $6 ticket is available for children under 18 years of age and University of Portland students who present valid school ID at the door. For groups of 15 or more, contact Beth Connell at (503) 943-7245 to take advantage of special discounts on tickets.
As part of the doubleheader, the University of Portland men’s team plays the San Jose Reserves at 5 p.m.
The Timbers face Gonzaga in their second preseason event on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Lincoln Park Stadium in Forest Grove, Ore., near the campus of Pacific University. Tickets for Sunday’s contest are $5 for adults and $2 for children 17 and under, and will only be available at the door. Beginning at 11 a.m., tickets will be available at the Lincoln Park Stadium ticket window.
Portland opens the 2008 USL First Division season on April 17 against the Puerto Rico Islanders at PGE Park. Season tickets, party suites and group discounts for the 2008 campaign are available by contacting the Timbers’ ticket office at (503) 553-5555.
Individual-game tickets are now available. Starting at $11, single-game tickets can be purchased through the PGE Park box office, area Ticketmaster outlets, online at www.ticketmaster.com or by phoning (503) 224-4400.
