Looking back on 2008 with Chris Brown

In a special end-of-season interview, Timbers forward Chris Brown shares his favorite moments of the 2008 season - his first back in his hometown, and how he plans on filling the offseason with family time and video games in Video News.


A native of Portland, Brown joined the Timbers prior to the 2008 season after nine seasons in Major League Soccer. Brown logged eight goals and two assists to finish his first season with Portland as the club's leading scorer. His 18 points also ranked among the leaders in the USL First Division. Brown was a three-time USL First Division Team of the Week selection in 2008 - honored in Weeks 1, 11 and 21. He is one of seven players returning for the 2009 USL First Division season.


Brown was a standout at Jesuit High School and the University of Portland before starting his professional career in 1999 with the Kansas City Wizards of MLS.
