It was a night anxiously awaited. Supporters had camped out on Morrison St. well beyond 24 hours prior to kickoff. It was opening night of the regular season; a chance to play with points on the line.
The Portland Timbers opened the 2015 MLS campaign against Western Conference rival Real Salt Lake on Saturday. As you'd expect from a PORvRSL match-up, it was close and intense. But Saturday night also marked the start of the club's fifth season in MLS and the 40th anniverary of the club in the Rose City. It was a night to celebrate the club's history and the start of another season. Cheers!
Pretty outstanding showing by the guys tonight. Just wouldn't drop would it? Unbelievable atmosphere like always. #RCTID— Michael Nanchoff (@mnanchoff) March 8, 2015
