Playing in New York City for the first time in 40 years, the Portland Timbers took home all three points as they knocked off host New York City FC, 1-0 on Sunday evening at Yankees Stadium. Here are three #StatMan takeaways from the match


4Darlington Nagbe led numerous second half attacks into the heart of NYCFC defense. The fifth-year Timbers midfielder finished the game with a team-high four key passes with all of them coming after halftime. 


5 For the third time in his short MLS career, Adam Kwarasey notched a shutout for the Timbers. Kwarasay came up big numerous times as he finished the match with a season-high of five saves, four of which came in the second half. 


11Since 2013, the Timbers only have only 11 losses on the road which is three fewer than any other team in MLS. Moreover, the Timbers have nine wins over the same period, home or away, following a loss.
