PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Timbers have loaned midfielder Will Johnson to T2 of USL ahead of the club’s road match against Arizona United SC on Saturday at Scottsdale Stadium in Scottsdale, Ariz., it was announced today.
Johnson, 28, appeared in 29 games (all starts) for the Timbers during the 2014 season before sustaining a fractured tibia and fibula in his right leg on Sept. 27 against Toronto FC. Despite missing the final five matches of the campaign, Johnson set an MLS-career high in minutes played (2,526) and tallied six goals and two assists while being named an MLS All-Star for a second consecutive season with the Timbers.
T2 square off against Arizona United SC in the final game of a four-match road trip on Saturday at Scottsdale Stadium; kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. (Pacific). Saturday’s match will be available via a live, high-definition web stream at www.timbers2.com.
