Quick Strikes by Simple | Portland Timbers vs Columbus Crew | Sept. 26, 2015

The Portland Timbers will take on an Eastern Conference opponent for the final time in 2015, when they travel to Ohio to face Columbus Crew SC Saturday at MAPFRE Stadium (4:30pm PT, KPDX). Here are five numbers to know for #CLBvPOR in the latest Quick Strikes by Simple.

156 The next time Darlington Nagbe plays for the Timbers, it will mark his 156th league appearance for the club, which will move him into a tie for second place with USL Timbers defender Scot Thompson at 156 matches played on the club's all-time games played list. The all-time matches played leader for the Timbers is Willie Anderson with 160 games played.

900 Since the beginning of the 2014 season, the Timbers have a total of 900 shots, which is the most in MLS over that span. Leading the way for Portland during that span is midfielder Diego Valeri, who has been credited with 157 shots.

30 Defender Nat Borchers has blocked 30 shots this season, which is five more than any other MLS player this season. Since Opta started tracking MLS stats prior to the 2011 season, the record for most blocks in a single MLS season is 33 set by Columbus Crew defender Julius James in 2011.

8The Buckeye State has been the home to many Timbers players. Across all eras, eight different Timbers players can trace their birthplace to Ohio.

5 Portland has won five matches this season against Eastern Conference opponents, tying their season high for wins against the Eastern Conference with the 2011 season. The Timbers overall record against the East this year is 5-4-0.
