Quick Strikes by Simple | Portland Timbers vs. LA Galaxy | Oct. 18, 2015

Quick Strikes, Timbers @ LA, 10.18.15

With two games to play in the MLS regular season, Portland is in the thick of the race to qualify for the 2015 Audi MLS Cup playoffs heading into Sunday's battle with the LA Galaxy (4pm PT, FOX Sports 1). Here are five numbers to know for #LAvPOR in the latest Quick Strikes by Simple.

4 The victory over RSL continues a nice run of form historically in the month of October for the Timbers especially away from home. Portland has won four consecutive October road games dating back to the 2013 season.

50Defender Alvas Powell has played 50 MLS matches for the Timbers since the club acquired the then 19 year-old 2013. Powell is the fourth player born in 1994 or later to have played 50 MLS games, joining Toronto FC's Marky Delgado, New England's Diego Fagundez, and Vancouver's Kekuta Manneh.

40% In Wednesday’s victory over Real Salt Lake, Liam Ridgewell made his 45th start since becoming a Timbers player. After making his debut midway through the 2014 season, Portland has 18 shutouts in matches started by the English defender, good for 40 percent of his total games played.

35 Portland’s 35 clean sheets since the start of the 2013 season rank as the most in MLS over the last three seasons. In 2015, the club currently leads MLS with 13 shutouts.

11 Following his goal Wednesday, forward Fanendo Adi has scored 22 goals in his two-year Timbers career, giving him a goals per season average of 11. For Timbers who played more than one season, Adi’s 11 goals a season average is behind only USL-era player McKinley Tennyson, who averaged 14.5 goals a year.
