PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Timbers U-23s open their eighth Premier Development League (PDL) season in 2016 with three consecutive home games, including two Providence Health & Fitness Days at Providence Park on May 20 and May 24. The 2016 season marks the seventh year of the Providence Health & Fitness Days program, promoting healthy living to youth in the community through soccer.
The two Providence Health & Fitness Day matches will feature matchups against Victoria Highlanders FC on Friday, May 20, and Lane United FC on Tuesday, May 24. Featuring a host of activities, including a pregame assembly, the daytime matches kick off at 11 a.m. (Pacific).
Tickets for the Providence Health & Fitness Days at Providence Park are $10 and will be available for purchase at a later date online at www.timbers.com or through the stadium box office. Additionally, the Timbers U-23s are conducting open tryouts March 12-13 and March 26-27 for the 2016 PDL season. The tryouts are open to players 18 years of age (as of April 25, 2016) and older and the registration fee is $125. For more information or to register, click here.
The Timbers U-23s play a 14-game, regular-season schedule against Northwest Division opponents in 2016, splitting their 2016 home schedule between Providence Park and other venues throughout the greater-Portland area. Locations for the remainder of the home schedule will be announced at a later date.
Portland concludes its regular-season schedule with a road game on Sunday, July 17, against Highlanders FC.
