Quick Strikes | Diego Valeri has a knack for game-winning goals

Diego Valeri #3, Timbers vs. Seattle, 7.17.16

For the second consecutive MLS match, the Portland Timbers will take on Sporting Kansas City when the clubs meet Sunday at Providence Park (1:00pm PT, ESPN). Here are five numbers to know for #PORvSKC in the latest Quick Strikes.

4 After his 90th-minute goal midweek in the CONCACAF Champions League, Diego Valeri now has four game-winning goals in competitive matches this season. The midfielder is tied with Fabian Castillo, Sebastian Giovinco, and Pedro Morales for most game-winning goals among MLS players in competitive games in 2016.

24 Providence Park has continued to provide the Timbers a home field advantage with the club compiling a 7-3-2 record in 2016. The 24 goals scored by Portland at home this year are the third-most home goals scored by any MLS team this season behind only the Philadelphia Union and FC Dallas.

23 Lucas Melano is the only Timbers player who has appeared in all 23 of Portland's matches this season and is tied for the most games played in MLS this season. Since making his debut with the club on July 25, 2015, Melano has played in all 36 of the club's regular-season matches.

90 Midfielder Darlington Nagbe is one of three MLS players to have a passing accuracy of 90 percent or higher (minimum of 100 passes attempted). The U.S. International currently has a passing accuracy percentage of 90.13, which places him with Osvaldo Alonso and Mohammed Saeid above 90 percent.

74.53 Out of goalkeepers who played at least six MLS matches for the Timbers, Jake Gleeson has the highest save percentage with a 74.53 percentage. In his 21 MLS regular-season games played, Gleeson has made 82 saves on 106 shot attempts.
