The Portland Timbers kick off their 2017 Cascadia Cup campaign Saturday afternoon when they host the Vancouver Whitecaps FC at Providence Park (1pm PT, KPTV). Here are five numbers to know for #PORvVAN in the latest edition of Quick Strikes. 


29 In their 17 MLS regular-season matches against the Whitecaps, Portland has scored 29 goals. That is the most the Timbers have scored against a single opponent in MLS play. 


6 No player in MLS has more assists since 2013 than midfielder Diego Valeri and no team has been on the receiving end of more of Valeri's assists than the Whitecaps. Valeri has six assists against Vancouver, which is also tied for the most by any Timbers player against a single opponent.


11Portland forward Fanendo Adi has the most shots on target (11) and most goals (five) from inside the 18-yard box in MLS this season. 


16The Timbers lead MLS in goals scored (16) and are tied for first in the league on points (13).
