PORTLAND, Ore. – The United Soccer League today announced that Saturday’s scheduled contest between T2 and San Antonio FC at Toyota Field in San Antonio, Texas, has been postponed to Wednesday, Oct. 11, due to the presence of Hurricane Harvey in the region this weekend. Set to begin at 5:30 p.m. (Pacific), the Oct. 11 match will be available via a live, high-definition web stream at www.timbers2.com.
The National Weather Service in Miami, Fla. issued an advisory on Thursday evening that the severe weather moving toward Texas through the Gulf of Mexico had been upgraded to hurricane status. With major flooding and high winds expected, USL officials and both San Antonio FC and the Portland Timbers organizations agreed the game should be postponed.
