Quick Strikes | With Orlando arriving, Timbers look to continue their September success

Team huddle, Timbers vs. Caps, 4.22.17

The Portland Timbers return home after their longest road trip of the season to face off with Orlando City SC Sunday at Providence Park (5:00pm PT, FS1). Here are five things to know for #PORvORL in the latest Quick Strikes.

55/50 In the midst of the most prolific goalscoring streak in MLS history, midfielder Diego Valeri has continued to write his name in the MLS record book in numerous places. Valeri is the only active MLS player with 55 or more goals and 50 or more assists.

1 In their MLS era, the Timbers have lost just once in the month of September when playing at home. Portland won both its September games last year at Providence Park and has an overall record of 7-1-5 since joining MLS in 2011.

50 Portland has scored 50 goals this season, the most of any team in the Western Conference. The 50 goals also surpasses the club's total in each of the last two seasons (48 in 2016 and 41 in 2015).

17 Beginning with a 2-0 victory over San Jose on June 2, Portland has scored in every match it has played. The 17 consecutive matches with a goal ties for the most by the club in a single MLS season.

5 For the match against Orlando City, the Timbers have signed five-year-old Derrick Tellez. The goalkeeper will become the first Timbers player with a three-digit jersey number (100) and is the youngest signing in Timbers history.
