Portland Timbers Academy alum and Stanford University senior Foster Langsdorf was named as one of 15 semifinalists for the 2017 MAC Hermann Trophy. The award is given annually to the best college soccer player in the U.S.

Langsdorf led the Cardinal this season in goals (13) and tied for the lead in assists (6) and was named the 2017 Pac-12 Player of the Year and was a 2017 All-Pac-12 First Team selection. His six conference goals and five conference assists also tied for the lead in the Pac-12 in 2017. Langsdorf, prior to attending Stanford, was the Timbers 2013 Academy Player of the Year.

The reigning NCAA College Cup back-to-back champion Stanford are currently into the final eight of the 2017 NCAA tournament with Langsdorf and the team set to take on Wake Forest on Dec. 2.

Three men’s finalists and three women’s finalists will be named on Dec. 8 in conjunction with the Men’s College Cup semifinals at Talen Energy Stadium. The 2017 MAC Hermann Trophy winner will be announced on Jan. 5 in a banquet at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis.
