Coming off their first win of the season, the Portland Timbers now turn to league-leading New York City FC Sunday at Providence Park (3pm PT, FS1). Here are five numbers to know for #PORvNYC in the latest Quick Strikes.
1 After a stellar performance against Minnesota United FC, Alvas Powell was named MLS Player of the Week. Powell is the first Timbers defender to ever receive the honor and just the fourth defender in the last eight years to be named MLS Player of the Week.
116 For just the second time in his illustrious Timbers career, midfielder Diego Valeri both scored a goal and notched an assist in two consecutive matches. Since his MLS debut in 2013, Valeri is first in MLS for combined goals and assists with 116, eight more than any other MLS player in that span.
7 Dating back to last season, the Timbers have won seven straight regular-season matches at Providence Park. The streak is the longest active streak in MLS by a four-game margin and is tied for the longest in the club's MLS era.
52 Forward Fanendo Adi scored the 52nd goal of his Portland career with the game-winner against Minnesota United. Since Adi's MLS debut in May 2014, only three players have more league goals than Adi.
6 Defender Marco Farfan and midfielder Cristhian Paredes, who are both 19-year-olds, have each played in all six of the club's games this season. The Timbers are the only team to have multiple teenagers to play in all their games this season.
