MATCH RECAP | FC Dallas 2, Portland Timbers 1

FRISCO, Tex. – Outshooting FC Dallas 14-13 and a second-half goal from Cristhian Paredes was not enough as the Portland Timbers lost 2-1 on the road in a hard-fought and contested match at Toyota Stadium Saturday evening.

Match Moments

9' - GOAL (DAL) - FC Dallas jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first half when Jésus Ferreira pounced on a flukey, deflected pass, sprinted in on goal and slotted into the bottom corner. The call was upheld following video assisted review.

27' - SAVE (POR) - Timbers goalkeeper Jeff Attinella made a strong save as Dallas' Michael Barrios sprinted through the right channel to unleash a shot that the Portland shot-stopper parried away.

44' - SAVE (POR) - Attinella came up big again when Barrios, this time coming in on the left, worked his way from the end line and fired a knuckling shot that Attinella dove to his left to expertly knock away.

47' - CHANCE (POR) - Portland's Jorge Moreira carried upfield from the right, deftly tapped the ball around a defender, cut the ball to his left foot before taking a hard shot that was deflected out for a corner.

55' - CHANCE (POR) - Sebastián Blanco collected a loose clearance and hit a shot on frame that forced a save from Dallas goalkeeper José Gonzalez.

60' - GOAL (DAL) - Following a Portland foul in the box, Dallas' Reto Zeigler stepped to the spot and converted a penalty kick to give the home side a 2-0 lead.

67' - GOAL (POR) - The Timbers pulled a goal back to make it 2-1 when Blanco lofted a ball towards the back post for a diving header from Cristhian Paredes who scored.

84' - CHANCE (POR) - Diego Valeri, who subbed in midway through the second half, served up a free kick from the left that Bill Tuiloma jumped high to snap a header down but right at Gonzalez.

90+4' - CHANCE - (POR) - Valeri fed a ball through to Dairon Asprilla who took a shot from tight angle that was narrowly saved.

90+5' - VAR - (POR) - On a play that occurred prior to Asprilla's shot, referee Marcus De Olivera went to check on video a possible handball on Dallas' Ryan Hollingshead. After review, the penalty was not given.
