Quick Strikes | Valentin now member of century club with Timbers

The Portland Timbers will face off with the LA Galaxy on Saturday at Providence Park (7:30pm PT, FS1). Here are five numbers to know for #PORvLA in the latest edition of Quick Strikes.

8 With his assist against Seattle, Sebastián Blanco became the fifth Timbers player across all eras of the club to register eight or more assists in three consecutive seasons. Blanco joins John Bain, Willie Anderson, Hugo Alcaraz-Cuellar and Diego Valeri as Timbers who have accomplished the feat.

1.06 Forward Brian Fernandez has impressed in his first season with the Timbers, having scored eight goals in nine MLS matches. His goals-per-90-minute average of 1.06 is tied with LAFC's Carlos Vela for highest in MLS among players with at least 270 minutes played.

11 Valeri is now up to 11 assists on the season, placing him with the third-most in MLS play in 2019. It is the fifth time that Valeri has registered 11 or more assists in a single season, which is two more occurrences than any other MLS player since 2013.

100 After coming off the bench against the Sounders, Zarek Valentin has appeared in 100 matches across all competitions for the Timbers. The versatile defender has one career goal for the club, having scored against the Galaxy in 2016.

67 In the 21 MLS matches between the Timbers and Galaxy, 67 goals have been scored. That is the third-most goals of any MLS fixture involving Portland with only matches against their Cascadian rivals Seattle (75 goals) and Vancouver (68 goals) having seen more goals.
