USL Championship Team of the Week | Eryk Williamson named to USL Championship Team of the Week (Week 8)

Midfielder Eryk Williamson was named to the USL Championship Team of the Week for Week 8 of the 2019 season after tallying a brace in T2’s 3-3 draw on the road against New Mexico United at Isotopes Park on April 26.

Williamson, on loan from the Timbers, scored his first goal of the season after heading home Cristian Ojeda’s precise corner-kick delivery in the 66th minute of the match. Williamson completed his brace after smashing his penalty kick past New Mexico United goalkeeper Cody Mizell in the 77th minute. The goal marked Williamson’s first career multi-goal game. Additionally, the second-half brace marked the fifth time this season that a player has tallied two goals in a match for T2.

It marks the second time this season that Williamson has been named to the USL Championship Team of the Week after earning the honor in Week 4 for tallying two assists against against LA Galaxy II on March 30.  

Next up, T2 play host to Rio Grande Valley FC at Merlo Field on Tuesday, April 30. Beginning at 7 p.m. (Pacific), the match will be streamed live on ESPN+.
