All-time leader in international goals helps team to 1-0 win over Australia

In her final international appearance, Thorns FC's Christine Sinclair helped Canada to a 1-0 victory over Australia last night in a friendly at BC Place in Vancouver, B.C. The match marked Sinclair's 331st international appearance for Canada – the most in Canadian history and second in the world all-time. She leaves the international stage as the all-time leader in international goals scored for women or men with 190.

Sinclair, who was born and grew up in nearby Burnaby, started and played 57 minutes in the match before being subbed out out for longtime Canadian teammate Sophie Schmidt, who was also making her final international appearance. BC Place, temporarily renamed "Christine Sinclair Place" hosted a capacity crowd of 48,112 making it the largest crowd for a women's international friendly played in Canada and seventh largest crowd ever for a Canada national team match.
