As the weather heats up for summer, so does the ECNL season with the start of the postseason. Three Portland Thorns FC Academy teams – the U-13s, U-16s and U-17s – will compete in the ECNL Regional League Finals this week in Redmond, Wash.

The Thorns Academy U-13s and U-17s are competing in the Champions League bracket, featuring top finishers from each division across the league, for a chance to advance to the ECNL Finals in Richmond, Va., in early July. They’ll compete in a group of four, playing three group stage games. The 11 group winners and top five second-place teams will then square off in a knockout round. Finally, the eight winners from the Round of 16 will secure a place in the national finals tournament.

The Thorns U-16s are competing in the North American Cup – a single-elimination tournament featuring successful teams from the regular season that missed out on qualifying for the Champions League bracket.

All matches during the Regional League Finals are played at 60 Acres Park in Redmond, Wash.
