PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Thorns FC have acquired forward Alyssa Walker on short-term loan from SK Brann in Norway for an agreed upon loan fee until Sept. 1, 2023, and signed Lindsey Harris as a goalkeeper replacement, the club announced today.

Harris will be added to the roster pending the receipt of her International Transfer Certificate (ITC).

Walker, 25, most recently signed with SK Brann ahead of the 2023 Norwegian Toppserien season. Prior to coming to Portland, Walker scored two goals in 16 games, recording eight starts. Walker began her professional career in 2022 with newly promoted side Kalmar in the Swedish Damallsvenskan, scoring nine goals in 23 games. The forward started her college career at Richmond (2016-20) and played her fifth season at Iowa in 2021.

Harris, 29, joins Thorns FC after featuring for Damaiense in Liga BPI – the top division in Portugal. The Texas native spent three seasons in the NWSL with the Houston Dash from 2020-22. After concluding her collegiate career at North Carolina, Harris played in Iceland as well as in the Toppserien with Klepp, featuring in 44 matches across the 2018 and 2019 campaigns.

In the case of an injured goalkeeper, or when a team has less than two available goalkeepers, a team is able to add a goalkeeper to its roster until its goalkeeper is back to full participation with the team.
