T2 opens 2016 USL regular season against Swope Park Rangers on Saturday

PORTLAND, Ore. – T2 will open the 2016 USL regular season on the road against Swope Park Rangers on Saturday, March 26, at Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kan.; kickoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. (Pacific), with a live stream available at www.timbers.com/t2-live

Following their USL regular-season opener against Swope Park Rangers, T2 will play host to Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 in their home opener on Saturday, April 2, at Merlo Field; kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. (Pacific). Season tickets, starting at $8 per game, for T2 home matches are now on sale online or by calling (503) 553-5555. Single-game tickets for T2 home games are available at the Providence Park box office, online, and on game day at the venue box office.


Led by first-year head coach Andrew Gregor, T2 will begin their second season against expansion side Swope Park Rangers, the USL affiliate of Sporting Kansas City. Both clubs concluded their preseason schedules last weekend, with T2 defeating the University of Portland 2-1 at Merlo Field, and Swope Park sustaining a 2-1 loss to Creighton University. In their inaugural-season opener last season, T2 defeated Real Monarchs 3-1 at Merlo Field on March 29, 2015.


It is the first of two regular-season meetings between T2 and Swope Park Rangers, with the two sides squaring off for a second time Saturday, June 4, at Rocky Mountain High School in Meridian, Idaho, located just outside Boise. General admission tickets for the T2 match in Idaho will go on sale Friday, April 1, at 9 a.m. (Pacific) online, with a portion of ticket sales going to the Idaho Youth Soccer Association’s member clubs.  


After their opener at Swope Park, T2 begin a three-game homestand April 2 with their game against Whitecaps FC 2. T2 then plays host to expansion side Rio Grande Valley FC on Friday, April 8, and Sacramento Republic FC Sunday, April 17, at Merlo Field.
