#StatMan Three | Down to 10v11 for 27 minutes, Portland Timbers allowed zero shots on goal

Despite being reduced to 10 men just 12 minutes into the match, the Portland Timbers beat Sporting Kansas City, 3-0 Sunday afternoon at Providence Park. Here are three #StatMan takeaways--and one bonus one--from the match.

0 Playing down a player for 27 minutes in the first half, the Timbers defense allowed zero shots on goal during the period. Sporting Kansas City mustered just two shots total in that timespan, both of which were blocked by Portland defenders. In the 124 minutes the Timbers have played with just 10 men this season, they have scored 5 goals and conceded 0.

10Diego Valeri's game-winning goal in the 65th minute gave the midfielder 10 goals for the season, joining Fanendo Adi–who scored his 11th Sunday–as the two Portland players with 10 or more goals in 2016. Portland is the only MLS team with two players this season with multiple players with double-digit goals.

5 Midfielder Darlington Nagbe completed 93 percent of his passes and also tallied his fifth assist of the season, tying Valeri and Lucas Melano for the team lead. This is the third consecutive season Nagbe has notched at least five assists.
