TUCSON, Ariz. – In their first preseason match of the 2017 campaign, the Portland Timbers faced the New York Red Bulls on Friday night at the Kino Sports Complex in Tucson, Ariz., utilizing three different lineups in three 30-minute periods. In the team’s first of three preseason matches during a 12-day stay in Arizona, 32 players saw the field for the Timbers in their preseason opener, as Portland fell 2-0 to the Red Bulls after conceding from an own goal and a penalty kick.

TUCSON, Ariz. – The Portland Timbers concluded their 12-day preseason camp in Arizona against Seattle Sounders FC at the Kino Sports Complex on Saturday evening, once again utilizing two different lineups in each 45-minute half before a record crowd of 4,064 in their final preseason match in Tucson.
PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Timbers opened play in their sixth-annual preseason tournament against Real Salt Lake at Providence Park on Thursday night, marking their fourth overall preseason fixture in 2017.
Utilizing at least 21 different players again in Thursday’s match, Portland’s first group included midfielder Darlington Nagbe, who made his first appearance with the Timbers in the 2017 preseason after joining the club following January training camp with the U.S. Men’s National Team, and recently acquired Designated Player Sebastián Blanco. The Timbers first-half group saw 56 minutes of action collectively for the first time this preseason, with the exception of Blanco, who played 45 minutes in his first appearance with the Timbers.

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Timbers concluded play in their sixth-annual preseason tournament against Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Wednesday night, recording a 2-1 win at Providence Park.
During the contest, eight Portland players logged 90 minutes for the first time during the 2017 preseason, as forward Fanendo Adi and midfielder Diego Valeri each scored during a two-minute stretch in the first half. Additionally, midfielder Darlington Nagbe and defender Vytas each recorded an assist on both goals for Portland.
