CARSON, Calif. – In their second match of the 2017 MLS regular season, the Portland Timbers secured their first away win of the season, defeating the LA Galaxy 1-0 before 20,982 fans at the StubHub Center on Sunday afternoon. Portland’s win against the Galaxy marks its strongest start to a season in the club’s MLS era, with the Timbers picking up six points through their first two regular-season games.

With the win, the Timbers are unbeaten in their first three league games, continuing the team’s strongest start to a season in the club’s MLS era.
The Portland Timbers received first-half goals from forward Fanendo Adi and winger Dairon Asprilla, but surrendered a late goal in the second half, falling 3-2 to Columbus Crew SC at MAPFRE Stadium on Saturday night. With his fourth goal of the season, Adi moved into a tie with John Bain for the most goals scored (45) in Timbers history across all eras of the club (since 1975).
