SAN JOSÉ, Costa Rica – The Portland Timbers defeated Deportivo Saprissa at Estadio Ricardo Saprissa 2-1 in their first match of the 2020 preseason, presented by Old Trapper Beef Jerky.
Playing with two different XI's in each half, Portland was led by a picture-perfect, free kick strike from Diego Valeri in the ninth minute and a second half goal from recent T2 signee Ken Krolicki in the 77th minute.
