PORTLAND, Ore. – T2 today announced the addition of Shannon Murray as an assistant coach with the club for the 2016 USL season. Murray joins the T2 staff after spending the last decade working in youth and coaching development.
“We are excited to have Shannon join our T2 coaching staff,” said Andrew Gregor, T2 head coach. “His years of youth and coaching development experience are going to be an integral part of our T2 development process.”
Murray’s experience includes working on the national coaching and education staff with the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) since 2011 and spending the last two years as an academy coach with Seattle Sounders FC.
A graduate of the University of Washington, Murray previously served as the technical director for Evergreen Soccer Club for four years and also was the director of coaching education for Washington Youth Soccer. Prior to beginning his career in coaching and education, Murray played six professional seasons in the A-League and Continental Indoor Soccer League.
Murray, who holds a USSF “A” license, and his wife, Mary, have two daughters, Anna (16) and Jaynie (13).
