Preseason Training Notes: Day 9 – April 2, 2007
COME AND GET IT:
Tickets for both Portland Timbers preseason exhibition matches are now on sale. The Timbers are scheduled to play the University of Portland Pilots on Friday, April 13, at Merlo Field. Kickoff is 7 p.m. Tickets are general admission and can be purchased for $5 at area Ticketmaster outlets, online at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling (503) 224-4400.

On April 15, the Timbers meet the Vancouver Whitecaps in their final preseason match up at Alder Creek Middle School in Milwaukie, Ore. Tickets are $6 and are available by contacting Portland Parks and Recreation at (503) 823-2525. Tickets can also be purchased at the door with cash. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.

ON THE AGENDA:
The Portland Timbers kicked off Week 3 of preseason camp Monday with training at PGE Park. Head coach
Gavin Wilkinson
has six days of training, including a couple scrimmages, on the agenda for the third week of preseason training.
WEEKEND WRAP UP:
With the day off on Saturday, the Timbers wrapped up the weekend with a scrimmage against the Gonzaga Bulldogs on Sunday. Missing the scrimmage was goalkeeper
Bayard Elfvin
, who was in California to help the California Cougars end the 2007 Major Indoor Soccer League season. Elfvin played all 60 minutes in a 9-6 loss to the Milwaukee Wave.
AROUND THE CORNER:
The Timbers are only three weeks away from the 2007 USL First Division season opener on April 21 against the Puerto Rico Islanders at PGE Park. The Timbers have won two of their last three season openers and are 2-2 in season openers at PGE Park. A variety of ticket packages are available for the upcoming season.
