PORTLAND, Ore. – Playing their second-to-last home game of the 2017 regular season, T2 will play host to Real Monarchs SLC on Saturday, Sept. 9, as part of Bark in the Park night. Set to begin at 7 p.m. (Pacific), Saturday’s match will be available via a live, high-definition web stream at www.timbers2.com.
T2 and the Oregon Humane Society have partnered for the team’s first Bark in the Park, where fans can bring their dogs to watch the club take on Real Monarchs. There will be a special section for guests with dogs, and fans will receive a commemorative bandana. Six dollars of every ticket sold benefits the Oregon Humane Society’s shelter pets. Saturday’s match marks the third and final game between the two clubs in 2017, with Portland being dealt losses by Monarchs SLC at Providence Park on March 25 and at Rio Tinto Stadium on June 10. In seven all-time meetings between the two clubs, Portland trails the series 2-3-2, and holds a 2-1-0 record at home against Monarchs SLC in three meetings in Portland.
T2 (2-17-4, 10pts) enter Saturday’s match coming off a 1-1 draw against Tulsa Roughnecks FC at Providence Park on Sept. 3. T2 took a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute when midfielder Jack Barmby curled his free-kick attempt from the edge of the 18-yard box over the wall and into the bottom right-hand corner of the net. The goal marked Barmby’s first of the 2017 season for T2. Roughnecks FC leveled the match in the 44th minute when midfielder Juan Pablo Caffa chipped his penalty attempt over T2 goalkeeper Wade Hamilton, who finished the match with a game-high four saves.
Real Monarchs SLC (17-4-4, 55pts) enter Saturday’s contest following a 2-1 loss to San Antonio FC at Rio Tinto Stadium on Sept. 2. Monarchs SLC sit in first place in the Western Conference standings, and have scored the second-most goals in the USL (51). Forward Chandler Hoffman leads the team and ranks fourth in the league in goals scored (14), while midfielder Sebastian Velasquez ranks second on the club with seven goals. Midfielder Charlie Adams and Hoffman are tied for the team lead and rank tied for third in the USL with seven assists.
Individual-game tickets for the 2017 season start at $10 and are available at the Providence Park box office on gameday or by visiting www.timbers.com/tickets.
Following Saturday’s match, T2 will travel to face Reno 1868 FC at Greater Nevada Field on Saturday, Sept. 23; kickoff is set for 7 p.m. (Pacific).
