PORTLAND, Ore.
- It was announced Tuesday that Timbers' defender Bryn Ritchie and midfielder Scott Benedetti were named to the A-League Team of the Week for their performances in the last week of the regular season.
Benedetti and Ritchie each scored their first goals of the year in Friday's 3-0 win over the El Paso Patriots at PGE Park. Benedetti added an assist in the victory.
Tuesday's honor was the first for both players this season. They join teammates Hugo Alcaraz-Cuellar, Byron Alvarez, Josh Saunders, McKinley Tennyson and Gavin Wilkinson as Timbers to be named to the Team of the Week in the 2003 season.
