PORTLAND, Ore. – Major League Soccer’s Portland Timbers today announced that after a thorough evaluation of existing video and technical analysis systems, they have opted to switch providers to California based Match Analysis.

Entering into a multi-year agreement, Timbers Head Coach Caleb Porter and his coaching staff will have access to touch-by-touch video and statistical analysis of every MLS match using Match Analysis's Mambo Studio 5 software. In addition, coaches and players will have online access to detailed individual analytics, upcoming opponent analysis, and complete touch-by-touch player video through Match Analysis's Tango Online. Coaches will also have the ability to send video directly to players using the company's unique Tango ToGo system.

"The Portland Timbers are dedicated to staying at the absolute forefront of performance analysis and Match Analysis’s toolset is head and shoulders above the competition," said Portland Timbers General Manager Gavin Wilkinson. "Match Analysis tools are cutting edge and still extremely accessible and easy to use for both coaches and players. This new relationship is a significant competitive advantage for the Timbers’ coaching staff and players."

"We’re proud to be working with the Portland Timbers," commented Match Analysis President Mark Brunkhart.  "Understanding the emphasis the club puts on video and technical analysis as well as the aggressive goals of the club, Match Analysis is pleased to have been selected over the competition.  We’re excited to help Portland push the limits of what can be done in a league that has always been world leading in terms of performance analysis."
