Championship Celebration with Fans, Thorns @ Flash, 8.31.13

Here’s your chance to play futsal with members of the 2013 NWSL Champion Portland Thorns FC, and support a great cause. Join Thorns head coach Cindy Parlow Cone and forward Danielle Foxhoven* on Saturday, November 9 at Rose City Futsal for this special event.

All proceeds from the “Girls Fun Night Out” event will go towards Goals for Girls, and Parlow Cone’s “India 2014” initiative. As part of “India 2014,” Parlow Cone and seven local soccer players (ages 16-18) will be traveling to India this winter to work with 120 Indian girls (ages 9-15) from impoverished and leprosy affected communities. Together, the girls will be involved in service projects, soccer and life-skills activities that focus on promoting self-esteem, leadership and cooperation in an all-female environment.

Registration is $40 per person for one of two sessions. Session I is from 6 – 7:15 pm and Session II is from 7:45 – 9 pm. Please note that a special third session has just been added (as of the week of October 28). Session III is from 9:15 -- 10 p.m. Space is limited to just 60 players per session.
