For the second consecutive week, the Portland Timbers take on a Western Conference foe with the LA Galaxy visiting Providence Park on Sunday (4:00 pm PT, FOX Sports 1). The 2014 MLS Cup champion, LA is coming off a 2-0 home victory over the Chicago Fire while Portland played to a 0-0 draw with Real Salt Lake in a match that saw the Timbers outshoot RSL by a two-to-one margin. 


10,047 In the season opener, Darlington Nagbe became the second player to surpass 10,000 minutes played for the Timbers in MLS. The first MLS draft pick by the Timbers, the 24-year-old joins Diego Chara as the only members of the 10K club for Portland's MLS franchise. 


5 The LA Galaxy won their fifth MLS Cup in 2014 becoming the first team in Major League Soccer to garner five cups. Their previous MLS Cup victories came in 2002, 2005, 2011, and 2012. 


4 Timbers winger Rodney Wallace led the attack during Portland’s season-opening 0-0 draw with Real Salt Lake, producing a team-high four shots on goal. After the first weekend of action, Wallace’s four shots on target lead MLS.


9Jack Jewsbury took ninecorner kicks during the club’s season opener against Real Salt Lake. The midfielder was also 25 of 32 for successful passes and crosses in the match. 


18 The Portland Timbers racked up 18 shots against RSL, which tied them for the highest shot total of any MLS team in the first week of the season. In 2014, Portland finished with an average of 14.3 shots per game, which was the second highest average in MLS. The only team to outshoot Portland last year was Sunday's opponent, the LA Galaxy.
