Timbers midfielder Diego Valeri wins MLS Goal of the Week for Week 5

The MLS Goal of the Week heads to Portland for the first time this season.

Portland Timbers midfielder Diego Valeri won 65 percent of the overall vote – 54 percentage points ahead of second-place finishers Tommy McNamara and Luis Solignac – as his unbelievable goal against the New England Revolution took home the MLS Goal of the Week award for Week 5.

Valeri has kicked off the 2017 regular season in sensational form, scoring five goals and notching two assists through the team's first five matches. His goal tally is good for second in the league behind only that of Houston Dynamo striker Erick Torres.
