Danny Mwanga | Assistant Discovery Program Manager & Coach, Academy
Mwanga began his soccer journey as a standout forward at Oregon State University earning 2009 Pac-10 Freshman of the Year and 2009 Pac-10 Player of the Year honors. Selected by the Philadelphia Union first overall in the 2010 MLS SuperDraft, Mwanga went on to represent MLS’s Portland Timbers, Colorado Rapids, and Orlando City SC in over 100 appearances across all competitions. Since retiring from professional play, Mwanga transitioned into coaching and youth development, and holds a U.S. Soccer Federation B License. Joining the Portland Timbers Academy in 2024, Mwanga currently serves as an Assistant Discovery Program Manager & Coach.
