16' - CHANCE (POR) - Portland patiently worked the ball around in the attacking third. Santiago Moreno released Yimmi Chara on the right who passed it back near the edge of the area and darted towards goal. Moreno then sent a scooped pass back to Chara but the midfielder's shot went high.

24' - TACKLE (POR) - With New York breaking forward, Eryk Williamson sprinted back to make an expertly timed tackle just inside the Portland half to snuff out the Red Bulls attack.

25' - CHANCE (POR) - Portland went direct upfield to Jaroslaw Niezgoda. He carried the ball forward and then played it back to Moreno. Moreno took a touch and launched a 20-yard shot that clanged off the crossbar.

43' - SAVE (POR) - Timbers goalkeeper David Bingham got down quickly to make a save on a shot from Red Bulls forward David Barlow. Defender Pablo Bonilla then cleared the rebound away.

48' - CHANCE (POR) - After the ball was deflected off Moreno in the New York box, Justin Rasmussen ran in to fire a shot towards goal that was narrowly deflected away by a Red Bulls defender.

53' - GOAL (POR) - Portland finally broke their goalless streak with a goal in the 53rd minute. After carefully pushing upfield with Chara, Loría and Moreno working together, Moreno carried the ball out wide and crossed in a low pass towards the near post that Niezgoda snuck into to redirect inside for a 1-0 Portland lead.

67' - GOAL (NY) - The Red Bulls tied the game at 1-1 in the 67th minute when Aaron Long slotted home a shot off a scramble in front of the goal following a corner kick.
