Timbers Academy players Callum Lugton, Maximo Nystrom called up to U.S. U-15 Men's National Team

Timbers Academy players Callum Lugton and Maximo Nystrom have been called upto participate with the U.S. Soccer U-15 Men’s National Team in the upcoming 36-player training camp from Jan. 7-14 at the Elite Athlete Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif. 

Lugton, a forward, joined the Timbers Academy this past August having played club soccer with United PDX and participated in the Olympic Development Program. Defender Nystrom (above) has played for the Academy since 2019, beginning with the team's U13 squad. He played his club soccer with Portland City United.

The training camp is the first for this age group since March 2020, before the onset of the global COVID-19 pandemic. U.S. Soccer is requiring all staff and players be fully vaccinated in order to attend YNT training camps. Dan DeGeer, head coach of the San Jose Earthquakes’ U-17s, will serve as the U-15 USMNT head coach for this training camp.
