T2 forward Kharlton Belmar has been named to the USL Team of the Week for Week Five after scoring the game-winning goal in Saturday’s 2-0 defeat over Tulsa Roughnecks FC.
Belmar, who previously earned a spot on the USL Team of the Week for Week Four, opened the scoring for T2 in the 22nd minute when he reacted quickly to pounce on a loose ball outside of the box. After midfielder Dylan Damraoui was dispossessed at the top of the 18-yard box, the ball trickled out to Belmar, who fired his low, one-time strike to the right corner of the net to build a 1-0 lead for T2. Belmar’s tally was his second of the 2016 USL season and helped T2 earn their first road win of the campaign.
T2 (2-4-0, 6pts) return to action this week, traveling to Arizona to play Arizona United SC (2-3-0, 6pts) on Saturday, April 30, at Peoria Sports Complex; kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. (Pacific).
