TUKWILA, Wash. – T2 sustained their first loss of the 2015 season, falling 2-1 on the road against Seattle Sounders FC 2 on Saturday night in front of 2,304 fans at Starfire Stadium in Tukwila, Wash. Despite leading 1-0 at halftime following a goal by defender Harrison Delbridge, T2 conceded two goals in the second half of the match. Seattle midfielder Pablo Rossi scored a penalty kick in the 48th minute and midfielder Giuliano Frano gave S2 a late game-winning goal in the 88th minute.

T2 (2-1-1, 7pts) started the match on the right foot, scoring the opening goal and leading Cascadia-rival Seattle 1-0 through the first 45 minutes. Delbridge scored the first goal of the match and his first of the season with a strong header in the 30th minute. The defender made a run into the penalty box and got on the end of a precise 40-yard free kick taken by midfielder Blair Gavin, sending the ball down and into the back of the net for the lead.

Sounders FC 2 (3-0-0, 9pts), playing host to T2 in their third consecutive home match to open the season, answered Portland’s first-half goal with a penalty kick in the 48th minute as Rossi sent a shot into the upper left corner of the goal. S2 was awarded the penalty when midfielder Andy Craven controlled a long pass from midfielder Amadou Sanyang and went down in the box after a challenge by T2 defender Andy Thoma. As the match was winding down, Seattle was able to net the late game-winning goal as Frano chipped T2 goalkeeper Jake Gleeson after receiving a pass from Craven in the 88th minute.

T2 had a chance to take the lead in the 81st minute, but forward Kharlton Belmar’s left-footed shot from inside the box was saved by S2 goalkeeper Charlie Lyon. T2 finished the match with an 8-3 advantage in corner kicks.
